A corps member, Dr Onuoha Chiagozie who was kidnapped last month by four armed men in Abakaliki, Ebonyi State has been rescued by the state police command.
The victim, serving at Civil Service Clinic Abakaliki was kidnapped in her Honda Accord car and taken into a bush in Umuoghara, Ezza LGA of the state, where a demand of N20M was made by her kidnappers.
The Ebonyi state Police PRO, DSP Igbo Sylvester said that the timely report of the incident at the command ensured the speedy rescue of the victim and her car.
"when they(kidnappers) couldn't bear with the pressure from the police and seeing that the police were closing down on them, they abandoned their victim and took to their heels" the DSP said,
the Honad Accord car of the victim was recovered while the victim was rescued on the 29th of March at 9pm without paying any kobo.
