NEWS: EKITI STATE DEPUTY GOVERNOR'S LAST MOMENTS ON EARTH

Ekiti State Deputy Governor, Mrs Funmi Olayinka, who died on Saturday at St Nicolas Hospital in Lagos was said to have been in coma in her last five days on earth.
Sources said she was under intensive care at the hospital after her return to the country five months ago from a London Specialist Hospital where she was undergoing chemotherapy. Family members who had apparently given up on her recovery, but still believed miracles could happen, were said to be by her bedside as she went through excruciating pains before she finally gave up the ghost.
Sources said the late deputy governor was diagnosed of breast cancer in 2002 when she went for routine medical checks. She was thereafter operated upon and the affected breast removed.
The situation was however said to have worsened five years ago and she was again forced to undergo surgery in the UK.
It was while undergoing this chemotherapy that her condition got complicated with most of her organs affected. That was when the doctors advised that she should be brought back to the country and that it was lost abttle.
"The doctors told her will; that it would take more than a miracle for her to recover" said the source who is close to the family.
It was as a result of this that the state government organised series of special prayers for her recuperation in the last 2 weeks, amid concern that her condition was deteriorating.
